About Me

Who I am

Caroline Unruh, MSW, LCSW

Hello there! My name is Caroline Unruh. I have a Master’s Degree in Social Work, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I obtained my bachelor’s at UNC-Greensboro and my Master’s at UNC-Charlotte. I have been providing one-on-one therapy with children, adolescents, adults and families since 2017. I also have training in and significant experience in parental coaching.

My clients often come to me feeling powerless. They feel overwhelmed with thoughts, feelings and corresponding behaviors. Given the complex world we live in, this makes total sense! My approach to therapy is to normalize and validate the human experience; I work to empower my clients through reminding them that we have more control over our lives than we realize, we may just not have the tools yet. I believe we all have wounds, but it is our responsibility to initiate the healing process. Meaning, I will gently encourage you to take active steps towards a better life while acknowledging and processing barriers that have kept you stuck. I provide support, guidance, and evidenced-based workable tools to use in everyday life to move you toward your goals.

I utilize client-centered, evidenced based interventions tailored to your personal goals. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness-based approaches depending on your treatment goals
